Field Safety Representative

Location: Winnipeg, MB
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
Hours: Minimum 40 hours/week

 

About the Role

Maple Leaf Drilling is looking for a Field Safety Representative to support and enhance our safety culture. This position plays a key role in maintaining our Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) program and supporting our Fleet division. You'll be involved in training, inspections, compliance monitoring, and contributing to continuous improvement across the organization.

This is an in-person role based out of our Winnipeg office. We're looking for someone who's organized, adaptable, and ready to make a real impact on the ground.

 

What You'll Be Doing

• Support field staff with safety training, safe work procedures, and orientation for new hires
• Monitor and maintain COR standards and OH&S compliance
• Conduct shop, yard, and job site safety inspections
• Deliver training programs (e.g. WHMIS, CSTS, Ground Disturbance, etc.)
• Investigate incidents, report root causes, and coordinate corrective actions
• Attend and contribute to weekly maintenance meetings
• Monitor driver Hours of Service and ensure compliance
• Maintain safety records, complete data entry, and generate reports
• Track and communicate equipment defects to the maintenance team
• Order safety supplies and coordinate fleet service records
• Recommend and implement safety program improvements

 

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must reside in Winnipeg or surrounding area
• Must have your own vehicle (no public transit access to the office)
• NCSO certification (required)
• Knowledge of COR requirements
• Knowledge of heavy equipment and/or the heavy construction industry is an asset
• Experience with incident investigation and safety auditing
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
• Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Confident, assertive, and professional demeanor
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and able to learn new software/apps
